The University of North Texas (UNT) is a student-centered public research university located in Denton, Texas, a safe and pleasant community just 30 minutes away from the economically and culturally vibrant Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Founded in 1890, UNT enrolls more than 36,000 students, including over 2,600 international students from 123 countries.

UNT is a world-class school with a small-town feel. Denton is a safe and friendly suburb with a sunny, warm climate.  Denton is also only 25 miles from the busy DFW airport.  Because of this location, Denton is home to a diverse international community, as well as connections to a wealth of business opportunities and cultural festivities.

UNT is one of Texas' largest universities, offering 97 bachelor's, 88 master's and 40 doctoral degree programs in business, engineering, journalism, education, arts and sciences, information, merchandising and hospitality management, music, public affairs and community service, and visual arts and design. A variety of scholarships, research and teaching assistantships are available.

UNT’s Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) provides an outstanding program for academic English.  Established in 1977, accredited by CEA, and a member of AAIEP and UCIEP, IELI is an excellent place to learn academic English. Located on the beautiful UNT campus, IELI offers a 7-level program, from beginner to advanced, with five starting dates per year. Students who graduate from IELI may be admitted to UNT graduate and undergraduate programs without taking TOEFL.
